Taking part in Cascais Opera means much more than competing — the competition has become a platform where unexpected and distinctive opportunities emerge. It is a space for artistic experiences that cross borders, bring together different languages of expression, and can open doors to some of the most prestigious stages in the world.
Such was the case at the Lumina Festival in Cascais, held in September 2025, with Visual Piano — an interactive installation by German artist Laurenz Theinert, where music can be seen and light can be heard. In this edition, two Cascais Opera winners — soprano Sílvia Sequeira (Teresa Berganza Prize 2024) and baritone Viktor Aksentijević(Maurício Bensaude Prize 2025) — joined Deejay Thimo in an immersive performance that stood out as one of the festival’s highlights.
In the same spirit, three contestants from the 2nd edition of Cascais Opera have been invited to audition for the 2028 Glyndebourne Festival in England — one of the most prestigious and demanding international opera festivals in the world.
These achievements show that Cascais Opera is far more than a competition: it is a platform for artistic and professional opportunities, capable of propelling young talents towards new experiences and cultural horizons — opportunities that will shape their careers.
