This summer, Cascais Opera organized a solidarity concert that brought together on the same stage the Orchestra of the Colégio Moderno Music School and the Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) — an initiative that reinforces the project’s mission of providing learning experiences and visibility for young, emerging musicians.
The concert featured soloists Ana Rita Coelho, winner of the Grand Prix Égide 2025, and Sílvia Sequeira, recipient of the Teresa Berganza First Prize 2024 — both former participants of Cascais Opera. Their performance is part of the journey the competition offers its contestants, creating opportunities that go beyond the competitive stage and contribute to their professional development.

The program included not only major opera arias but also moments of traditional Chinese music, giving the audience a rare opportunity to hear the Sheng, a traditional Chinese wind instrument, masterfully performed by Jia Lei. This musical diversity emphasized the educational and intercultural dimension of the event.
This collaboration reflects the international scope of Cascais Opera and represents another step in the project’s mission: to support young talent and build cultural bridges that enhance the artistic growth of all those involved.
All proceeds from the concert were donated in full to the local associations Gaivotas da Torre and Centro Paroquial do Estoril.
