Conheça os 8 finalistas da segunda edição do Cascais Ópera

O concerto final acontece no Grande Auditório da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.

Anna Tetruashvili (Israel, Mezzo-Sopran, 27), Laura Brasó (Espanha, Soprano, 29), Viktor Aksentijević (Sérvia, Barítono, 29), Defne Celik (Alemanha, Soprano, 21), Ana Rita Coelho (Portugal, Mezzo-Soprano, 30), JaeWoung Lee (Coreia do Sul, Baixo, 31), Manhan Qi (China, Soprano, 26) e Sehyun Kyung (Coreia do Sul, Tenor, 31) são os grandes finalistas, entre os mais de trinta candidatos que participaram nas atuações presenciais.

À Grande Final apuraram-se assim 8 concorrentes, de 7 países diferentes.

Tal como na primeira fase eliminatória, ao anúncio dos finalistas seguiu-se um momento de feedback do júri para os cantores que não avançaram para a próxima etapa da competição.

Contribuir para a formação dos jovens artistas é um dos principais objetivos do Cascais Ópera 2025, que é muito mais do que um mero concurso de canto. Nesse sentido, os jovens talentos, que já não concorrem aos prémios finais, têm ainda a oportunidade de realizar gratuitamente várias masterclasses, dirigidas pelo barítono Serguei Leiferkus, a mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore e a soprano Anna Samuil (no caso das vozes femininas). 

Apesar do apagão que atingiu todo o país, o espetáculo não parou! As semifinais continuaram ao som do piano e dos magníficos intérpretes que participam no Cascais Ópera – sem esquecer todo o empenho da equipa organizativa, e o apoio imprescindível do público, concorrentes e ex-concorrentes que assistiam às atuações dos colegas.

A competição culmina no dia 4 de maio, às 17h, no Grande Auditório da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, com um espetáculo ao vivo, onde os finalistas vão interpretar algumas das mais icónicas árias de ópera, acompanhados pela Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, que será dirigida pelo Maestro Antonio Pirolli.

Os bilhetes já se encontram à venda na Ticketline, e têm um custo que varia entre os 15 e os 30 euros. 

Os prémios desta edição ultrapassam os 40 mil euros e, para além dos prémios pecuniários, serão ainda atribuídos contratos com prestigiados festivais e casas de ópera.

Over the past three decades, primarily in London, Portugal and Amsterdam, Dr Jorge Balça
has developed a strong portfolio of work and a unique combination of skillsets – as a stage
director (of theatre, opera, and hybrid forms), a teacher and workshop leader, a presentation
skills, acting and creativity coach, and practice-based researcher. His work in all these
domains is distinguished by his commitment to and skill in making fantasy and invention
emerge from precise knowledge and training – and by his ability to inspire a similar alchemy
in his collaborators.

Classically trained as an actor and countertenor, he studied theatre directing in London and
Moscow, specialising in Shakespeare, techniques of adaptation, Meyerhold and commedia
dell’arte. Jorge also holds a PhD exploring the dramatic training of opera performers.
With a love for site-specific projects and collaborative forms, and an equal flair for comedy
and drama, his work is dramaturgically inventive, visually striking, and physically engaged.
He was the artistic director of Bloomsbury Opera and associate director of The Opera
Makers, both in London. In Portugal, he has recently directed L’Heure Espagnole and The
Turn of the Screw at Centro Cultural de Belém, and Don Giovanni and La Voix Humaine at
Festival de Ópera de Óbidos.

Jorge is committed to his work as a teacher, having taught at the Dutch National Opera
Academy, Morley College London, Universidade de Évora and other institutions. He
maintains an international coaching private practice and is the acting coach at the Neil
Semer Vocal Institute in Italy.
